The Pekingese Toy dog breed is an adorable little compact dog that is seen as very brave. They are also very courageous as well. The Peek-in-ese is very small with long hair and an under bite that is prominent. Pekingese puppies are very cute and also very independent. They love to be affectionate and give kisses and love. The Pekingese pup is known to be quite willful and can become very jealous. They need lots of one on one attention from their new family or owners. They are a good breed for a family and do well with children as long as they are not too young and know how to behave. They also make great watchdogs.
The Pekingese is known for its long, straight-flowing coat that comes in many different colors. Pekingese puppies have a large head with big prominent wide eyes that are dark in color. They have a flat pushed in face with a wrinkly muzzle, and long ears.
Some Peks do not like to take walks and thats okay because they dont need lots of exercise. Just some indoor playing and some daily time outdoors will be sufficient. Pekingese puppies and adult dogs are great for an apartment lifestyle. They are very small in size and will be just fine in a smaller setting.
As far as grooming your new Pekingese puppy, a comb through once a day will be just fine. They do have a long coat and in order to keep this coat free of tangles and knots, you must put some time aside on a daily basis for this. New owners must also clean the face and eyes on a daily basis and The Pek puppy is known to be an average shedding dog breed.
