About sheltidoodles
The Sheltidoodle, also known as a Sheltipoo, comes from crossbreeding the Poodle and the Shetland Sheepdog. This is a highly intelligent hybrid due to the Shetland Sheepdog being a herding dog and the Poodle being a water retriever. The Sheltidoodle is an energetic and sensitive breed that is normally reserved, but respectful when meeting new people. Their easygoing and well-mannered temperament make them a great companion for a family with older kids. They do require socialization from a young age with children and smaller pets, as they could develop a strong instinct to herd them. Though the Sheltidoodle can handle apartment life, they require enough physical activity to prevent them from becoming bored. It is also important that they receive daily mental stimulation to challenge their intellect. A level-headed and well-rounded Sheltidoodle, makes for a fun and loving companion to have around.
